Interesting. First link quotes an old buddy of mine...Bill Maden. We
were
all regulars at the YMCA weightlifting room when he and a few others
dreamed
up that Polar Bear foolishness in the late 60's. I quickly put distance
between myself & that loony bunch. Imagine...New Years day swimming in
Halifax Harbour. Wasn't sure what was worse..polution or water
temperature.
