What's to understand? He asked to if you'd ever asked your wife what she
thinks of an outside force (i.e. "big government") making laws which control
what happens to her body.

Because the issue is larger than just "Government control over a woman's
body". Should someone be given the righ to commit murder, simply because
it involves their body? Morally, what is the difference between killing
an 8 month old fetus, and a 6 month old baby? Until you can resolve
that, there's no further point in discussing it.

My wife and I are in agreement on this issue.
