That would be a fantastic accomplishment if he can actually do it. The
army certainly knows how to vaccinate a large number of people in a
short time - no needles required either.

So does cvs and some supermarket chains. Needles required.

Around here, at least two of the supermarket chains have full pharmacies
and the pharmacist on duty does flu, shingles, and possibly other
inoculations. They have been trained on how to inoculate. But they are
not set up for doing a large number of inoculations a day. The armed
forces have lots of trained personnel who can inoculate and there is no
reason not to use them. Inoculating is not a posse comitatus issue. I am
sure military personnel in this country would appreciate the ability to
perform, if properly protected, a direct public service that would be
greatly appreciated.

They make up for it by having one or more of those places at virtually
every big intersection. There are about 40 of them within 10 miles of
me in Fumbuck Florida. They can certainly dispense this vaccine as
fast as the manufacturers can produce it. If you are saying the
military could spare medics and corpsmen to help out with staffing ...

I wonder if that is actually true (that there is this surplus in the
military) but up until now you have been telling me they are
uneducated grunts and we need real board certified people to treat
civilians.

The military medics work in hospitals or clinics here and overseas. There aren't
a lot of extras just roaming around the countryside. Right now an Occupational
Therapist buck sergeant can pick up $52,000 bonus if reenlisting for 5 years.

My wifeâ€™s best friend from grammar schools son, is a West Point Graduate,
as well as his dad, and is a PhD physical therapist, via the military. The
military does do well in a lot of cases. He is retiring this year.
