It's probably true. NY is famous for taxing sports professionals and
entertainers who come into the state for a day or two to play an
event.

NY pols make leeches look positively benign.

If they can get out in less than 6 months they might get away with it.
It might depend on who cuts their checks. I never had to pay New York
income tax.

Would be interesting if other states did reciprocate on NY. When
Bloomberg is in the state, his income is prorated 1/365 each day or partial
day he visits. Hey tax ball players there on business for the day.

Apparently he's using it as leverage to get the federal government to
bail out NY state for revenue losses unrelated to covid-19.
