As the under-50 crowd, without underlying complications, is relatively safe; and
the over-70 crowd, especially *with* underlying complications, is probably going
to die, this approach should kill off a bunch of old, somewhat sick people.

If I was a conspiracy guy I would say this was the plan to save the
social safety net programs. Scrub off the old and sick and you save
medicare and SS.
I assume all of the countries have a similar situation. Too many old
people vs the number of workers.

Sounds like Britain's plan.

It is a sound one. They are throwing massive amounts of money at NHS
and when this is all over it will only have to serve the young or very
healthy old folks. They really might end up with the best health
program in the world when this is over.
At least that is one way to think about this.
Maybe I am being too pragmatic but what the hell. It is better than
wringing my hands worrying about it.
Statistically something was going to kill me in the next decade. It
might as well be this.
Dying having sex with Carrie Underwear seems to be out. ;-)
