Wonderful to watch...

....Trump shoveling his usual bull**** and Nancy Pelosi calling him out
and shutting him down.

from the WashPost:

Donald Trump, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority
Leader Charles E. Schumer berated each other on camera Tuesday over
Trump’s border wall, an Oval Office spectacle that underscored the
distance between the two sides as they confront a fast-approaching
deadline for a partial government shutdown.

The stunning public spat, during which Schumer accused the president of
throwing a “temper tantrum,” ended with Trump declaring he’d be proud to
shut down the government to get the money he wants for his long-promised
U.S.-Mexico border wall. If the president follows through on the threat,
about 25 percent of the federal government would begin to run out of
money on Dec. 21, putting hundreds of thousands of federal workers at
risk of getting furloughed without pay just before Christmas.

The two sides remain billions apart on border security — the president
is demanding $5 billion for a wall, and Democrats will offer no more
than $1.3 billion for fencing — and Tuesday’s talks brought them no
closer to a resolution. The three leaders pointed fingers, raised their
voices and interrupted one another repeatedly as they fought over policy
and politics, laying bare their differences for all to see.

Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Schumer (D-N.Y.) had not expected the session to
be televised and repeatedly asked Trump to take the discussions
off-camera. But the president allowed the acrimonious encounter to
continue for nearly 20 minutes before kicking the media out of the Oval
Office.

As the argument dragged on, Schumer lectured Trump that “Elections have
consequences, Mr. President.”

heh heh heh... Gee, Trump said about 100 times that "Mexico would pay
for" his wall. Too funny.

Nancy Pelosi shut him down? Ha ha!

It's entertaining to watch how the left interprets such things. Pelosi
and Schumer didn't "shut Trump down". Just the opposite. Trump exposed
both of them as being the secretive, "we know better than anyone"
Democrats who didn't want the press and public to know what was being
discussed. Very typical. Reminds one of "you have to pass it to see
what's in it".

Trump isn't typical. He's a "in your face New Yorker" and it's
refreshing to see him make the secretive lefties squirm a bit.

Pelosi and Schumer agree that better border control is necessary
yet when the lights on the cameras are turned off they both support
sanctuary cities in their home states. They also both voted for
building a wall previously but have changed their tune when Trump
was elected instead of their favorite, Hillary.

If I were Trump at that meeting I would have encouraged either of them
(but especially Schumer) that if they/he think they have a better
solution they should run for POTUS in 2020 and wrestle with the problem.
They won't of course. It would expose them again as being the
hypocrites that they are. Their only objective is to oppose *anything*
Trump wants to do and to hell with what is in the best interests of the
country.

The $5 billion Trump is currently requesting for a wall represents one

Yup. Pelosi and Schumer were in panic mode. Kept looking over
nervously at the live TV cameras while begging Trump to "go private".

No! I think Trump did the right thing. Talk about it in the open
so every citizen who is interested can see for themselves what these
airheads are saying.

After the meeting both Pelosi and Schumer went back to their canned,
lefty spin of course when talking to the press.

In the grander scheme of things Mexico is already beginning to absorb
at least some of the cost of a wall. They are accepting more and more
illegals within their country who would otherwise be in the USA getting
financial aid and benefits at taxpayer's expense. They are also
hardening their own borders to reduce the number of people traveling
across Mexico and sneaking into the USA.

It's important to remember that something like 65 percent (or more)
of these people don't qualify for asylum status but they must
be cared for, fed and housed while that determination process is made.

It's out of control and $5 billion is a very small price to pay
to reduce those who illegally enter and then turn themselves in
to be cared for only to be found to be not eligible for asylum status.
Forget what Pelosi, Schumer and other lefty politicians say and listen
to the border control agents who deal with this issue on a daily basis
and *all* agree that walls work.

By reducing that financial burden and on ICE operations, those who
enter legally at points of entry (which our laws require) are better
positioned to receive asylum status.

Studies have shown that the wall would cost but a fraction of what illegal immigrants cost the US.

How do you explain two party hypocrites who previously voted *for* the
wall, demanded a path to citizenship for 800,000 undocumented immigrants
but turned down Trump's offer of extending it to almost 1,800,000 in
exchange for some wall funding?

It's not about a measly $5B for a wall that is 1/10th of 1% of the
federal budget.

It's *all* about resisting anything Trump, even if it's not in the
best overall interests of the country.

Trump’s border wall, an Oval Office spectacle that underscored the
distance between the two sides as they confront a fast-approaching
deadline for a partial government shutdown.

The stunning public spat, during which Schumer accused the president
of throwing a “temper tantrum,” ended with Trump declaring he’d be
proud to shut down the government to get the money he wants for his
long-promised U.S.-Mexico border wall. If the president follows
through on the threat, about 25 percent of the federal government
would begin to run out of money on Dec. 21, putting hundreds of
thousands of federal workers at risk of getting furloughed without pay
just before Christmas.

The two sides remain billions apart on border security — the president
is demanding $5 billion for a wall, and Democrats will offer no more
than $1.3 billion for fencing — and Tuesday’s talks brought them no
closer to a resolution. The three leaders pointed fingers, raised
their voices and interrupted one another repeatedly as they fought
over policy and politics, laying bare their differences for all to see.

Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Schumer (D-N.Y.) had not expected the session to
be televised and repeatedly asked Trump to take the discussions
off-camera. But the president allowed the acrimonious encounter to
continue for nearly 20 minutes before kicking the media out of the
Oval Office.

As the argument dragged on, Schumer lectured Trump that “Elections

I don't think the wall's stupid. If nothing else, it slows 'em down a bit.

I don't really believe that. lowing is not stopping and if you are not

I really think it would be better to make it easier to get in legally
if you are actually looking for work and bring the hammer down on
people who come in illegally.
The immigrants who are taking jobs from Americans come in on H1B visas
because they will work an IT job for half of what we need to pay an

Slowing the illegals down long enough for the border patrol to catch and 'bring the hammer down' on
them.

It was wonderful to watch Donald Bluster make a fool out of himself,

Made a fool out of who?

https://www.cnsnews.com/news/article...nt-workers-are

Here, Harry. Yu don't mind somee cut n paste. Here, let me do some foer you....

"Pelosi complained that their conversation had "spiraled downward," and she said the emphasis should be on "how do we meet the needs of American people, who have needs. The economy has -- people are losing their jobs. The market's in a mood," she said.

Trump interrupted her: "Well, we have the lowest unemployment that we've had in 50 years," he said.

"Sixty people of the Republican Party have lost -- are losing their offices now because of the transition," Pelosi replied.

"And we gained in the Senate," Trump interrupted. "Nancy, we've gained in the Senate. Excuse me, did we win the Senate? We won the Senate," Trump said..

That was Schumer's cue: "When the president brags that he won North Dakota and Indiana, he's in real trouble," Schumer said.

"I did," Trump told Schumer. "We did. We did win North Dakota and Indiana."

U.S. Senate seats in both of those states flipped from Democrat to Republican in the midterms, giving Republicans a two-seat pickup and Democrats a two-seat loss.

Pelosi at that point objected to holding their conversation "in the public view." She called it "the most unfortunate thing."

"But it's not bad, Nancy. It's called transparency," Trump told her..."

BTW, Chuck should have noticed that Trump won way more than Indiana and North Dakota.

He won the presidency...
