Aero Precision pieces and parts, 18" barrel for .308, 15"
handguard, et
cetera. Everything went together properly, only dropped a few really
small pieces on the floor. Still hanven't put on "fancy" muzzle
device.
Hope to finish up lower this week...it has many more pieces and
parts,
so...more to drop on the floor.

Perfect melding of an assault weapon and a sniper rifle. See you on
the news.

According to the State of Maryland, where I live, these .308 rifles are
"too heavy" to be handled like .223/5.56 ARs, and therefore are not
prohibited.

I agree there were a bunch of morons writing those laws but they were
democrats so what do you expect?

An M1A that shoots the same rounds and weighs at least a pound more
than an AR-10 IS an assault weapon.
The chinese knockoff of the M1A, the Norinco M-14 is OK. They are
identical and from a couple feet away you can't tell them apart.
Without looking at the stamp on the receiver, I doubt you could with
them in your hand.

Stupid people writing stupid laws.

You just own a gun that slipped through a loop hole, like the rest of
your assault weapons.

I follow the firearms laws in my state to the letter. I don't write
these laws, but I find out what they are, and I obey them. If these
laws annoy you, as they seem to, why, that's all good.

I find it a bit amusing that you claim to follow firearms laws "to the
letter" and acknowledge that you "don't write them"Â* but when it comes
to Trump trying to follow and enforce immigration laws, you're totally
against it.

The Trump Admin's "enforcement" is based upon racism, xenophobia, and
the desire to feed red meat and fear to its base voters, and nothing
else. Maybe you fall for Trump's hatred, lies, and bull****, but I don't.

And you follow the letter of the law regards firearms so you can possess a
firearm that is against the spirit of the law.

Yeah Harry always says accuracy is his main goal but he goes out of
his way to get a high capacity assault weapon that has to be fine
tuned to even get reasonable accuracy when a Remington 700 would shoot
sub MOA right out of the box. It is just not sexy enough for him.
How is he going to mow down all of those Trumpies with a bolt action
gun that has a tiny internal magazine?

Indeed. 10 round mags are readily available and legal here. I have one.
If I wanted to drive across to Virginia, I could buy 20 rounders there
legally and legally bring them back to Maryland and use them legally in
Maryland. I just can't buy or sell them in Maryland. If the state of
Maryland wanted to do more about that, it could.

I prefer the five round mags in my .308. I'm not after more weight.

But it will take a larger mag.

Loopholes. Bad written law. California you can not bring in more than 10
rounds mags even if legally bought out of state.

Perhaps the law is written as the writers wanted it to be written.

That is a problem with a lot of laws. Way vague and basically
meaningless.

If so they are more stupid than I thought.
They say "no copycats of a forbidden gun" then turn around and accept
an exact copy of a banned M1A, right down to being able to swap parts
around. In fact most people advise Norinco guys to buy a USGI bolt
because the forging on the chink copy is crap.

Don't you remember the story. The gun came with a 20 round, it was
illegal for him to buy it but if it was just laying there he could
take it ... so he did.
