Some folks take the precaution of bringing their own sheets and pillowcases. There are websites that tell you how to check for bedbugs. They tell you to put your luggage in the bathtub until you make sure the coast is clear. The best suggestion I have heard is to leave your luggage in the car, open, in the hot sun for a day and that usually kills any hitch hiking bedbugs you may have accumulated along the way. |

Yeah, but that's after you have been infected. The bathtub thing is before, as you are checking in. Reminds me of a story I read long ago. A girl noticed her car was infested with tiny, white spiders. They turned out to be baby black widows. Someone suggested to have the car towed to a body shop and let them bake it in their paint curing booth. No more spiders. |
