Besides, we're leaving town in a few days. No trailers involved. Hope you have lots and lots of fun. Bring insect killer and disinfectant with you, just to be safe. Some folks take the precaution of bringing their own sheets and pillowcases. There are websites that tell you how to check for bedbugs. They tell you to put your luggage in the bathtub until you make sure the coast is clear. The best suggestion I have heard is to leave your luggage in the car, open, in the hot sun for a day and that usually kills any hitch hiking bedbugs you may have accumulated along the way. Yeah, but that's after you have been infected. The bathtub thing is before, as you are checking in. Reminds me of a story I read long ago. A girl noticed her car was infested with tiny, white spiders. They turned out to be baby black widows. Someone suggested to have the car towed to a body shop and let them bake it in their paint curing booth. No more spiders. In the summer, just about anywhere, several hours in the sun will get the car up to a temperature that is fatal to a lot of bugs. I have used the dash of my car to bake Epoxy and speed up the cure. |

Figured that was the case. Try it* again:* "If you were in the military *in Vietnam* in that era, the odds were you* were either killing Asians or facilitating the killing of Asians."* Now, what part of that sentence did you not understand?" I blame it on the demon liquor. Damn shame! Did you believe your BFF when he said he was there, donnee? |

One of the guys in my fishing group is a commercial guy. Runs a 6 pack. Means at most 6 passengers. He was a mile of Bodega last week and an engine stopped. Looked in to the engine hatch to see it filling with water. Made it to the beach on the other motor. Got all the clients off safely on the beach. Waves destroyed the boat. Hauled away in 10 yard dumpster. CG thinks it was a cutlass bearing seal that failed. He will get another boat, but we are all happy hat no one got injured. |

I said earlier, I just pulled the hubs on my boat trailer after 25 years of being totally ignored except a little shot of grease in the bearing buddies and they were fine. That is after being dunked in salt water several times a year and then just parked. |

But they do require a fair amount of maintenance. A new member of our camping group had just bought his 5th wheel trailer and brought it to a campout for the first time. He'd bought a rig that had been sitting on the dealer's lot for a few years. His refrigerator wasn't working. I asked if he had the manual and he had to go look. When he came out he said he wasn't 'mechanically oriented'. I told him he'd better get mechanically oriented, or rich, or an automobile and stay in motels. |

I've been very happy with the work done by the shop I use, and haven't gotten brave enough to do the job in the driveway. Bearing buddies are installed. I try to get them repacked every two years, but slipped this year. |

We just had to pay a mechanic to fix a minor but annoying oil leak on the port engine. It required special tools, parts and skills (two new high pressure hoses) or I would have tackled it myself. After waiting in the job queue for several weeks we finally got it fixed. Total tab? About a boat buck. |

On a trailer that does not hit the water, probably not an improvement. I have Vault Hubs on my trailer. No bearing problems since new. Regreased them two years ago when I had to replace a hub/disk when a break pad came apart. |
