It was a tri-toon with lots of add ons and 85 hp evinrude. And a Hoosier sissies trailer. $6,500.00 It wasn’t the dollar short but the day late. Now have eyes on a standard 28 with 85 hp Mercury, collapsible hard top and nice furniture and a dual axle bunk trailer. $3500.00 Not bare bones but some add ins. Gonna go look at it tomorrow. Not a fan of a single axle “sizzzer” trailer as the first had but I think the first would have been a better overall value. Anyhow.....this one might come home with me. Those between the toon trailers suck. It is harder to load, you have to be very careful with what is under the stringers on the boat and they tend to flip pretty easy because the axles are so short and the wheels so close together. A bunk trailer with a regular axle under it will trail pretty nicely, even at interstate speeds. It is best (I have found) to have the tongue down lower (not level) because the tilt of the boat tends to add down force at speed and it trails better. I won't even tell Harry how fast I have been with mine. For Richard, it was on Alligator Alley at 2AM and I was pretty much alone there. Behind my van or Suburban, it was pretty much unnoticeable. I do have a lighter than normal pontoon tho, no furniture at all. My 25 foot tritoon on its galvanized twin axle trailer is heavy, and you know it's back there. But on the interstate behind a late model Suburban, towing at 70 or so is no problem. Towing is rarely a problem. Stopping is. |

- show quoted text - That's why you use some sense and don't snapchat while you are towing. I can't wait until they make cell phones disabled while moving over 5mph. ......... I’m really not that big on Bluetooth either. My wife’s Honda CRV is rigged so the phone comes over the radio. I think that’s better. But conversations are slurred. |
