On Thursday, Hallandale Beach Mayor Joy Cooper vowed to “vigorously
fight” corruption accusations, including the claim that she was on the
receiving end of a Dunkin’ Donuts bag filled with $8,000 in
soon-to-be-laundered cash.

A day earlier, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, she had
cleaned out her city hall office, then reported to the jail in downtown
Fort Lauderdale.

Cooper, a 57-year-old Democrat who has been mayor of the city 20 miles
north of Miami since 2005, is charged with several corruption charges:
money laundering, official misconduct and exceeding the limit on
campaign finance contributions — all felonies that carry a maximum
five-year prison sentence each. She’s also accused of soliciting
contributions in a government building — that same now-vacant city hall
office.

"The former chairman of the Missouri Democratic Party pleaded guilty to wire fraud Friday after admitting that he spent campaign cash on lavish personal trips.
The Kansas City Star reported that Mike Sanders entered a guilty plea for the felony corruption charge, along with his chief of staff, Calvin Williford, who pleaded guilty to the same charge in a separate hearing that took place on the same day.

Williford testified that he and Sanders created a scheme where a printing company would create phone invoices and give the money to those who worked on Sanders’ campaign so the Missouri Ethics Commission would not flag the money transfers.

Sanders admitted to using a kickback scheme through an old high school friend to convert $62,000 in campaign funds to use for personal expenses."

indicted for hundreds of millions of dollars of money-laundering with
various Russian and other foreign crims, eh?

Talk about false equivalences.
You are comparing some ambiguous financial law violations involving
multinational corporations and the democrats who seem to steal from
the poverty programs they use as the main plank in their platforms.
Yeah shaving a few percent off your corporate tax bills is exactly
like cheating women and children out of their subsidies,.
