State AG's are going to pounce for alleged federal crimes? How does
that work?

You didn’t get the briefing on Fox? I’m shocked.

This will be an interesting case that will no doubt end up in the
SCOTUS. The legal question, does the 14th amendment make offences
against a state "offenses against the United States".
We certainly have used the 14th amendment to write federal laws
against things only the states have constitutional authority over
using that logic. The drug war leaps to mind.

What's to prevent a state from having similar but not identical criminal
charges to federal crimes in its system? Couldn't NYS have a code
against money-laundering and the feds also have a statute against it?

In this case it would be a question about whether a pardon "right"
defined as pardoning offenses against the US in the constitution
should not be extended to all of the state laws under the 14th
amendment.

"No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the
privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States"

Trump is arrogant enough to actually bring this case and the US
attorney general might be the plaintiff (US v State of New York sort
of thing)
