Luddite's comment reminded me of breakfast at the Cu Chi mess hall. Powdered eggs every day for
breakfast. I really believe they were developed by Mr. Tabasco just to increase his sales. Tabasco

I have eaten more powdered eggs in hotels at the "free" breakfast than
I ever had in the military. This isn't the super 8 either, it is
Marriott and Hyatt type places. It is interesting that they will
custom make you a waffle and cook an omelette for you to order but the
big pan of scrambled eggs is powder.

Haven't eaten many free breakfasts in hotels. Probably count them on one hand.

It seems to be a pretty popular perk, particularly at the hotels near
the airport. We have been renting houses on our last few vacations. It
ends up being about the same as a suite in a nice hotel and you save a
lot of money on the other things like food. Usually we get good WiFi
and a movie package on the TV along with a full kitchen bundled in
that price. Some of the houses end up being huge.
This was the one in Georgia.

And you get to fix things once in a while, just like at home. Or,
for that matter, just like camping. ??

That seems a bit big for two! Have to admit that since buying an RV we've never considered stay in a
hotel, motel, or rented house and before that it was mostly tents. Just pull home behind us and eat
what we want. Our other home just sits there while we're gone. Most campgrounds these days have
WiFi, and if not I can use my phone as a hot spot. Of course, that costs money so I don't do it very
often. I've got only a 1GB plan which gets eaten up pretty quickly.

I usually do end up fixing something. Last time in North Carolina I
had to get the garbage disposal freed up. I suspect someone put stuff
in there without running it (maybe just the scraps from the dish
washer). I found a suitable stick in the yard and horsed it around. It
was OK after that.

I tried that for a year. Developed a great fondness for Tabasco sauce.
...

Ketchup works too, especially if you drink enough of it...

Tapatio is better.

I had powdered eggs at Boy Scout Camp. They were awful. I remember. We
had bug juice, too.

I'm sure you were the most badged boy scout there. Did you make it to Eagle Scout? Undoubtedly.
