As an ex fighter pilot replied in rec.aviation, "The thrill is avoiding
thrills!" at least in sailboat racing. I'm not sure why people race power boats, nor what they do with the time they save. Good luck, Bumper7 BW wrote: I have been a little confused, but I now see where I made my mistake. Whilst doing background research into the group rec.boats.racing it included the sub group rec.boats.racing.power. Most of articles I read were about the thrill of powerboat racing. I subsequently posted my power boat query into rec.boats.racing which I now know is about sail boat racing. Again, please accept my apology. But as my research is still about thrill, sailboat racing is JUST as interesting. I am revising my question to "what do you find thrilling about sailboat racing"? Any comments... Brendan |

Never understood the attraction of burning a bunch of gas
to get someplace fast and spend even more money on marked up booze at a bar when you can be drinking with good friends on the boat while you're out sailing to your destination. ;=) "Wim" wrote in message ... (By the way, tell them to shave more often......) |

The good ones are out on the water sailing, not hanging around some tiki bar. |
