Snakes are a better option.
Now, a couple of free range black snakes would be welcome. But then I'd have to figure out a way to
keep the dogs from attacking them.
They are fast and will bite if cornered. They aren't poisonous
but would you want to be bitten by something whose main diet is
lizzards moles mice and other snakes?
The black racers we have here seldom puncture the skin when they bite
and even if they do it is superficial. Usually you can grab them and
not get bitten. They do exude some nasty smelling stuff when they are
scared. Again that is a hit or miss thing. Most of the time they are
pretty well behaved if you just pick them up and carry them outside.
Not me fella. I ain't gonna pick one up. Nope. No way.
Only good snake is a dead snake.
