Who's ruling? Everytime we have gone to International arbitration, we win but murica doesn't feel it has to abide by GATT rulings BTW..In Nova Scotia most lumber is harvested from private rather than Crown lands. Thus we were granted an exception from your bullying till now. Trump has just slapped a 24 percent tariff against us. Maybe the civilized world should do the same to murican products. It was 3 to 24 percent. American product are already tarriffed. Why shouldn't 'nad products be as well? |

The whole idea of NAFTA is removing barriers and the FREE trade of goods between the member countries. Our media is claiming 24 percent against Nova Scotians forestry products although our lumber comes from private lots...not Crown land. |

- show quoted text - "In this country, we give the logging rights to private companies so they can profit greatly from public lands." Confusing....we keep hearing that the supposedly low stumpage fees the lumber companies pay to cut on Crown land is the big reason why American companies convince the US gov't to apply tariffs. It's supposedly considered an unfair advantage. Shouldn't apply to my province though. |

I'd be a little more sympathetic if your border gestapo was a bit more friendly toward Americans. Just because they have your photo up there as a "Designated Asshole" doesn't mean all U.S. citizens are treated the way you are. I've crossed the U.S.-Canada border legally many times, and never have had the slightest delay or problem. |

But there's no doubt the border has a deserved reputation for detaining and harassing people from time to time. As usual, you're "special". |
