Spoke too soon. Now the media is reporting that Trump has fired him.

Why can't the media get it straight from the get-go?

Maybe it is because you don't know how the news media works.
Fired, eh? Maybe he had "the goods" on the Trump mis-Administration.
Surely he wasn't fired for incompetency, because being incompetent is
not a negative with Trump.

Don't know what's up. My first reaction was a cover-up related to
"Russia, Russia, Russia" based on the recent Senate hearings.
But, according to sources including the New York Times, this has been in
the works for a while.

Ironically, the reasons given for the firing only go to support
Hillary's beef about Comey costing her the election.

I have a sense that the Dems and Repubs in Congress are staring at each
other, not knowing if they should approve or condemn Trump's action.

By the time I got back inside for fixing a dock, they had it right.
This instant news is not always correct news.
I suppose, technically he did resign tho, at the request of the
president.

Trump seems intent on firing anyone getting too close to his Russian
shenanigans.

Maybe. I don't think so though. Comey's recent appearance at the
Congressional hearing was pathetic. He was almost emotional, trying to
explain the actions he took regarding the Clinton e-mails. Not exactly
what one would expect from the Director of the FBI. But, from what is
being reported by the media, his firing has been a long time coming and
it was actually the Assistant Attorney General who made the case for
canning him, not Sessions. One other thing I heard that was "news" to
me: Comey didn't officially re-open the Clinton investigation last
October (after saying it was closed) as the media has continuously
reported. He simply sent a letter to the congressional committees
investigating the issues, along with other congressional leaders stating
that the emails on Weiner's laptop that was being looked at in an
unrelated case contained Clinton emails as well. He was just advising
congress that they would be looked at. It was someone in Congress who
splashed the story of "re-opening" the investigation that was picked up
and repeated by the media.

I don't think this is just because of the investigations against Trump
because this will make the special prosecutor and independent
investigations more likely.
I think Trump is embracing the "Russia-Russia-Russia" thing because it
distracts from the business conflict issues. I think that will be the
one that makes him "want to spend more time with his family".

I was switching back and forth from Fox and CNN tonight and they are
all conflicted.
