With all the violent protests, brick throwing, fire starting going on,
particularly by the progressive liberal students around the country,
it's interesting to note that this isn't the first time.

Back in the late 20's and 30's many, particularly those connected to
"Hollywood" were either sympathetic to or card carrying members of the
Communist Party. The concept communism was a little different then,
being prior to WWII which changed it's reputation due to the leadership
of Joseph Stalin, his murderous ways and his expansionist desires.

Back then the focus was on helping the downtrodden and poor, much like
what the protestors claim today. The actions and attitudes are much the
same however, including violent demonstrations, brick throwing and
physical injuries.

F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote,

“Communism has become an intensely dogmatic and almost mystical
religion, and whatever you say, they have ways of twisting it into
shapes which put you in some lower category of mankind,�

Change "Communism" to "The Resistance" and his comment would be
absolutely true today.

He must have been referring to "deplorables".
