Default oroville dam spillway

This is a lake I boat. Couple weeks before Christmas the water was down at
least 150'. Letting water out today, the spillway started to breakup.

Wow! I suppose they'll be praying for a drought now so they can fix the spillway.

Damned if I remember where or when, but I know I've read a novel in
which some of the action took place in Oroville...

Was a large gold mining region, so probably some Samuel Clemens, etc. books
may have been based in the area. As to fixing the spillway, couple days of
little rain, and they can dump enough water via the power plant to get the
lake low enough the spillway is not used long enough to repair.
