Take out the druggie murders in the big inner cities and the US rate would drop substantially. Just like Prohibition, a big chunk of the murder rate is driven by the illegal drug trade (and alcohol is a drug). It really does not matter if we are talking about an inner city drug gang selling coke and smack or if it is a biker gang selling crank. So we're back to the impact of Chicago, Flint, Detroit, etc, as I said earlier. I will say it before Harry, there is also some violence around the meth gangs in red states but nothing like the big city turf wars and drive bys |
