Harry,

Please forward my US$100 to John Herring. He is acting as my proxy.

Thank you in advance,
Alex

I'll be delighted to send the proceeds to you at your name and at your
street address in Florida. You can forward the needed info to me at:

I don't deal with racists like Herring or with proxies. That wasn't
part of the wager when it was made, and I don't accept those as
modified terms.

I don't plan on being "here" much, so please communicate to the
above-referenced email at your earliest convenience.

Thanks.

Let's run this down...

1) You certainly won't be delighted to pay - everyone knows that.
2) The wager was simple and clear.
3) No "modification" of terms is requested - there were no terms.
4) It's really none of your business, but I owe John $100 for a
charitable arrangement we made and the timing of your loss is perfect to
help facilitate that. You aren't against charity are you?

Why am I not surprised that you would try to slither out of a
gentleman's bet?

As soon as you email me your actual name and actual street address, I
will send you the payment. If you want to send $100 to Herring, that is
your business, and not my concern. I am not "slithering" out of
anything. I am not going to change my mind, nor am I interested in the
comments of your buddies here on this matter.

My email:

Another entry for your database of names and addresses? I would advise
Alex to not do so. It's up to you as to whether you will honor your
obligations or not. Seems like you won't without imposing new conditions.

Also dont try to test his moose and tree rat email. It could
reveal your email address to him if it's real.

He used to have mine until we moved and I had to change it. He
occasionally emailed and was always civil, unlike his persona presented
here in the newsgroup. I think it's a good idea to change your primary
email address occasionally anyway. Gets rid of a lot of junk emails.

I have had my AOL address for over 20 years. The spam is bad but not
unmanageable. Most can actually be traced to things I bought online
and things I signed up for. AOL is pretty good about filtering the
most abusive spam.

Gmail does a pretty good job of kicking s lot of stuff to the curb. Really amazing the amount you actually can get every day...

Harry. He seems to like building a database of where people live.
He's been trying to figure Justan's address out for years, to no avail.

Uh, "Justan's" address and "Alex's" address aren't exactly secret.
How do you suggest the money be transfered?
If Alex won't freely give his address to Harry, he might as well write it
off and STFU. That goes for you too.

Wow. Having a bad day already?

The strange thing is I was not here when I did it. I was in Michigan
so it wasn't my IP and I do not keep cookies on my laptop. I think
they hacked my AOL address list or something although I got "you may
know" people I don't have in my address book. It was a little spooky.
They also would not let me set up the page. They knew it was me.
When I got home I set up a new Email address for Ed on AOL, used my
trash machine and it went through.

Jesus, I will send you the stamp. Just take the check when it is
offered and endorse it over to John is that is what you want to do
with the money.

That's not the point. If I lost the bet the check would have been in
the mail yesterday.

I like to think of Harry as a mushroom. Keep him in the dark
andcover him with manure. :-)
Any snow up there yet?

No! It *is* turning colder though, with temps dropping well below
freezing at night.

BTW ... ol' Sam Adams is no longer with us. He developed some kind of
growth or tumor in his spine that caused his
hind legs to spasm and sometimes give out on him. I nursed him along
for the past 7 months when this first began ... built a ramp for him to
get in and out of the house (he could no longer do stairs) but it
continued to get worse. He was approaching 12 years old, had other
issues as well and even the vet said it was time. He was a great dog.
Miss having him around.

Our yellow had the tumor on the spine and couldn't get up. This
came on suddenly and we rushed her to the vet. He said he
couldn't do anything. We thought about it and had her put down.
She was 15. Our Black, her son, had a similar, but slower to
develop, hip problem. He gave us 16 years. Remember the good
times and take comfort in knowing you did what he would have
wanted you to do. Peace brother.

When Harry is having a particularly rough time, boating all out
jumps in to share his burden. Maybe BAO is Harry's half

FB's inference engine is very, very good. I have no idea how it works
and imagine the answer is top secret to them. Obviously a lot of
smart guys have done some clever stuff. I know one thing they do is
cross reference EMAIL address lists and smart phone directories. They
may also be getting some help from retail partners like Amazon,
linking up people who have bought similar products, live in the same
area, etc.

How could Luddite's comments cost Alex anything? If someone is being 'petty', it's your buddy
Krause.
