Nice boat, John!

I don't think the 2.5 is in production anymore. The 3.0 is the basis of the mercruiser line.

I like the 3.0 for small craft. My 18ft has one. It does great at 32-3500 rpm and I can tube my nephews at the lake all day on 10 gal of gas...
