"They" didn't want most men of the appropriate age group. A very small
percentage got the letter to report for a physical. And from what I've
noticed among several of those here who "served," the standards had to
have been pretty low for mental abilities, which makes perfect
sense...how smart do you have to be to stop a bullet in a war against
people who were no threat to the United States?

From the keyboard of a chicken.

Amen.

It's not my fault that you and FlaJim the other right-wing Asshole were
too stupid or lazy to get into a community college back in the day. Even
a state four year college back then was cheap enough so that a student
could pay his or her way with part time and summer job.

Too stupid to take the coward's way out?
Think again Kayser Susy.

I turned 21 in boot camp. Guess I should have stayed for a worthless
liberal arts master.

I turned 21 two months before boot camp. Maybe that campout was Uncle Sam's birthday present?

I turned 21 in IBM school, learning a real job, after serving my
country. I imagine Harry was on a panty raid at U Kansas

I turned 21 while working at an auxiliary Air Force Base on Eleuthera in the Bahamas. Little club
right on the beach.

At 21, I was a full-time college student during the day and a full-time
newspaper reporter four nights and one day a week. I didn't have time
for panty raids. It's amazing how little of anything you get right in
these discussions.

I suppose I could have found a way to chicken out.

It's not my problem that you were so ignorant of what was happening and
going to happen in SE Asia. It isn't because you grew up in the midwest,
because there was plenty of news available there and nationally about
the horrors of the Vietnamese government we were propping up. Basically,
you "dumbed" your way into that war. Couldn't you get into an open
admissions JUCO?
