Default Is XM "Sirius"? :)

$20 a month to listen to the radio in the truck after a three month free
trial?

People do this?

Sirius is a pain in the ass. They give you a free 3 month subscription
or something when you buy a new, Sirus equipped vehicle
and then hound the bananas out of you to set it up and subscribe.

I had a Sirius subscription way back when they first started and
took advantage of a "free" lifetime offer for $300. They seem to
have lost records of that.

I unsubscribed from all their emails. Don't need it. I figured out
how to pair my cell phone via Bluetooth and downloaded the Nissan app
that allows me to go on-line in the car. Subscribed to the free
version of Pandora. That's good enough in addition to local radio.

Smart folks bought a lifetime subscription before 2005. Others bought a truck which
included a radio with a lifetime subscription. Works great.

Where else can you get Bluegrass music anywhere you go?

My wife has it off and on. Once you are on their Radar they will offer
you all sorts of deals to stay or to restart the service. I don't
think she ever paid $20 tho. (at least not on purpose)
I get it as part of my Dish package. I never had it in the car.
I don't listen to any kind of radio. I am an MP3 guy. I have my music
in anything I am driving. It is hard too find a car these days without
a USB port.

I mostly listen to one of our classical stations around here, or NPR,
and if I am "on the road," either find a local classical station or
listen to some of the 40 gigs of music on my iphone. Last time I drove
to Hilton Head, I listened to all nine of the Beethoven symphonies in
order, and played solely on the piano. It was a wonderful and
educational experience.

I had the 3 month freebie also, three years ago. I've negotiated with them a few times and the best they offered was $72 for a year. I only travel in the May-October time period so I wanted a deal on 6 months. I really only wanted the '60s rock music.
Couldn't agree on a pkg so I enjoy the two week free service each spring. Trouble is half the time has elapsed before they notify me that it's available.
