Here I thought the BMW's might have a lot more leg room than the Boxster or Miata. So far, that Karman Ghia I had in Germany wins in the leg room contest. Even my wife's Jetta has a lot of leg room, although it is low also. I used to be 6'4", but now have to stretch to get to 6'3". I am a midget at 6'2 but I am OK in my Honda Prelude. Years ago we leased a Honda Del Sol and I fit in that car fine - plenty of legroom. I still preferred the Jeep Grand Cherokee we had at the time. When I saw the mention of Honda, I checked some S 2000 prices. Holy ****, those damn things are expensive! I thought it was a nice looking roadster! Me too. But the prices for the damn thing are unreal. I'm thinking a 15 year old Honda should be in the $3-5K range, if it's in good shape. I'm still surprised the S2000, or a replacement, isn't on the market. The Z3 and the Z4 are regarded as "girly" cars in some circles. My wife had a Z4. I had a Porsche. :-) For years and years a Porsche 911 was my dream car. Now I have no desire for one. Maybe, like you say, I grew up. Your height would make a 911 difficult. I am only 5'11" and, although I was comfortable once seated inside and had sufficient leg room (mine was a six speed manual transmission) it was still a chore bending in half to get in or to exit the car. Still, if you get a thrill out of handling and unreal acceleration it's hard to find a better designed car. The one I had was a twin turbo rated at 450 hp. My lawyer friend had a naturally aspirated version rated at something like 320 or 350 hp. His had all the performance anyone would need for a daily driver, IMO. Mine was a luxury version of the 911 Porsche produces for racing. It had all the leather and wood trim that the full bore racing version does not have in order to further reduce weight. Hey, I was able to easily squeeze into the old 70's era Lotus Europa, but it took about 20 minutes of contortions to do so. In the late 60's as a 2LT in Germany, I had a 59' Karmann Ghia which I pretended was my Porsche. Lots of leg room in that thing. I once had to pick up a drunk about 60 miles from our post at about 2 am. I went to the barracks and got someone to ride with me and off we went in the Karmann Ghia. Picked the guy up from the German police station. Big guy, almost as tall as me and very stocky. Made him ride in the back all the way home.
