Who is getting one?

I'd love to play with one at the range for an afternoon, but I wouldn't drop $1300 to own one. There's only a couple of uses for which it's practical. I don't see myself and a group of guys clearing a street or building, and I'm already equipped to defend my home against the "revolution".

Besides, as the article points out, if the wrong person saw you with that thing you'd have some 'splaining to do.

I have shot one of these in the semi-auto format

Every gun nut should have one of these in their collection:

The strange thing is you would need an AOW stamp for that unless you
could get a curio and relic exemption. That Black Ace is legal without
one ... so far. I really expect to see a new ruling on all of these
"arm braces" (to be distinguished from a shoulder stock). Sig has one
too.
I can't imagine paying that much for something that useless. If you
want a lot of bang for the buck, get a Saiga and you could actually do
something with it besides repelling zombie attacks.

I am surprised I haven't heard of speed skeet. Get a guy (or gal) with
a Saiga and a few spare mags, line up on a skeet field and see how
fast you can finish a round. Score based on birds hit and time. (First
"pull" to last shot fired)

Based on what I read about it the "Punt" gun was basically a big ass
shotgun used for duck hunting. It had a 2 inch bore and was capable of
hitting 50 ducks with one shot. That kind of hunting was banned in the
USA in 1900.

Yup, exactly and shotguns larger than 10ga are considered "destructive
devices".
The exception is if your punt gun is a muzzle loader. It is still
illegal to use it to hunt any federally regulated water fowl.

They used to load up these big guns on little flat boats, AKA a punt
and drift them out close to s flock if sitting ducks.

As part of that legislation it is also illegal to shoot a sitting
duck, no matter what gun you use.

Pretty cool. Either one could burn through some ammo pretty fast.

That is an interesting idea but I am not sure why. It is not ever
going to be transferable and the licensed manufacturer or
police/military would be the only ones who could own it.

I am not sure I want cops with and FA weapons and I doubt the military
wants one.

We need to reinstate their legality. Might be a good way to diminish the Canada geese
problem.

Looks like you Canadians are having problems with the damn things also.

In fact, it looks like you folks have doubled the bag limit for hunters in an effort
to get reduce the problem.

Apparently, killing more of 'em isn't just the American way, eh?

Don is just trying to "yank our cranks" a little in his usual charming
way. or perhaps "crank the yanks" would be more aptly put.

There's no question however that Canadian geese are a pestilence upon
the populace regardless of which side of the border they alight.

Don is really a ways off base. Canada is the largest source of trophy
hunts in the world. If you want to "kill em all dead" go to Canada.
You can trap them shoot them or just club them to death on the ice.

Ah..y'all pick the wild west to guote. That province is being condemned for shooting wolves from helicopters in order to save large trophy animals for 'merican hunters and their Yankee dollahs.

It would be more humane to shoot down the helicopters and the assholes
with guns in them out for "sport."
