Ran into rec.boats purely by accident after ignoring it for years. Still no boating content I see. So, I'll make a shameless plug for my latest invention.
FrogSuits: floating, waterproof brightly colored neoprene cases for your smartphones and iPads. It is NOT a one size fits all as there are separate ones for iphones 1-6, another for 6+, the smaller Samsung S1-S6 has one and another for the Note 4 and larger Samsungs. There is one for older iPAds, one for iPad Airs and another for iPad Minis. They are truly waterproof to an absurd depth for hours. You can use your iphone camera underwater. The idea here is that it is a thing that waterproofs your phone, has a carabiner and lanyard for attachment, it floats when you eventually drop it overboard and is so brightly colored that you WILL find it. Ok, Ok, we are now doing Camo colors just cuz ppl want it, weird the tastes of people. FrogSuits are less than half the cost of those silly overpriced plastic cases that purport to be waterproof but rarely are. We'll even put your marina, shop, resort logo on them. Best place to see em is on Etsy or you can go to our webpage: www.gulfmarinetech.com or our Facebook page where I post results of our testing adventures. My sailboat ( a 28' S2) is now back from the Bahamas and she is recuperating at Julington Creek south of Jacksonville, FL while I do years of Bahamas deferred maintenance in prep for my goal of circumnavigating Cuba David OHara AKA "Frogwatch" |

There actually is some boating content from time to time but it's sparse. Most boaters have moved to the various web based forums. Good idea on the FrogSuits. I might consider getting one for my phone if I could find a listing of dimensions (I'm not an iPhone fan even though I own Apple stock). Do the touch screen functions work OK through the vinyl window? |

The boy is around. Don't know how you missed him. Oh, he goes by Keyser Sose or some such crap now. -- Ban liars, tax cheats, idiots, audiophools, and narcissists...not guns! |
