OK I got it.

It is interesting that the Democrat talking points look like
a screen
grab from the communist party web site so I suppose Bernie
should
embrace the communist appelation and put the Hammer and
Sickle on his
ads.

What you posted and what I commented on did not include the Marx
statement. Just what is it in your original post do you find
offensive?
Are you, for example, opposed to the idea of keeping
segregationists off
the Supreme Court? Are you against bringing people together in a
harmonious way to work for a better society?

I was only pointing at the source. That makes it pretty hard to
distinguish democrats from communists... whatever that means.

Actually Khrushchev predicted this after the democrats took
over the
white house in the 60s. He said "You Americans are so gullible.
No,
you won't accept communism outright, but we'll keep feeding you
small
doses of socialism until you'll finally wake up and find you
already
have communism."

he also said "I once said, 'We will bury you,' and I got into
trouble
with it. Of course we will not bury you with a shovel. Your own
working class will bury you."

My favorite is "Politicians are the same all over. They promise to
build a bridge even where there is no river"

I'm not sure what you are advocating, and I'm not sure you know.
The
middle class is disappearing in this country, and what wealth
remains is
being sucked up by the wealthy. That will lead to a violent
revolution,
for sure. Is that what you want?

Why all the hate-mongering and fear-spreading?

His fears he will lose his government dole.

Uh...*my* government dole? Aren't you the one receiving social
security
and medicare? I'm still in the private world.

I seem to recall you saying a while back that you were now collecting
SS.
Most insurance companies dump you off into medicare the day you turn
65 too, You can get into an advantage plan in most states tho. I am
with UHC right now but I have hopped around a little.

My health insuror makes no attempt to push us old farts onto social
security. I used to know who the underwriter was, but it has changed
twice since I retired from the health and welfare committee.

Mine (Blue Cross) sure did. They notified me ahead of time and then
started sending all the Medicare option plans they carry. I was fine
with going on Medicare. Been direct paying anywhere from $1,000 to
$1,400 per month for the past 16 years just for coverage for Mrs. E and
I. Never made any claims during that time period that came even close
to what we paid in. The most expensive item was a one night stay in a
hospital for a full bore stress test that revealed that I drank too much
coffee. Hospital bill for that was right around $14,000! Oh, and a
colonoscopy a few years back and some doctor and eye doc visits for
treatment when I had shingles about 3 years ago. Mrs.E has just had
annual checkups at her doc's office for the normal woman stuff.

Let's see, assume an average of $1,200 per month for insurance for 16
years. That's $230,400 paid in. $14,000 (minus a deductible) for the
stress test. Musta been one hellava colonoscopy to make it worth the
payments.

Harry is special.

I wonder how much his insurance costs the rank and file workers of
that union he doesn't actually work for?

My Advantage plan is happy to take the hundred bucks or so I send to
Medicare for somewhat reasonable coverage and a part D compliant drug
plan. I pay 15 bucks for my PCP and $50 for a specialist. I think the
max OOP is $6k or something but I never get close to that.
IBM gives me $3k in a "use or lose" slush fund every year in lieu of
insurance to cover my deductibles. I ended up with $2700 last year and
since a boob job was out of the question I decided to get a dental
implant for the tooth I lost in 1965 (there is that year again) Same
ship

I wasn't sure how many boatswains mates it would take to kick my ass
and I certainly didn't know how many they were going to use. ;-)

(stolen from Ron White)

1965 was a great year. I got a nice letter from Uncle Sam and a free train ride to
Fort Leonard Wood. Who could ask for more?i

Mine was a Christmas present in 1964. But mom had remarried and moved and
I was still in school in Ohio. So did not get delivered. They were
looking for me, so I knew I better go see an Air Force recruiter before
contacting the draft board. My friendly local Congressman talked to them
to not call me for a couple months to give me time to go USAF. Figured
1965 was not a good time to be army draftee.

I was at Ft. Leonard Wood in 1965 or 66 or so, but just for the day, on
assignment from The Star to cover the opening or dedication of a new
hospital on the base. What an awful place that military installation
was... On the way back, the little used and abused MG-A I had started
having serious electrical problems. That was the end of that car.

I believe I may have noticed your presence. Was that in July or August of '65? Seems
like there was a horrific stench of dog **** wafted through the area one day while we
were at the rifle range.

You must have read some of Harry's rantings on Christianity!
