Why? In over 50 years nobody has ever asked me to show it to them.
(Not even when I started drawing my SS/MC)
The one I had said right on it "Not for Identification" or words to
that effect.
Take the "A" off the end of your medicare number and what's left.
Leave your SS number off your tax return and see what happens.
Why won't your doctor treat you if you don't give up your SS number.
Why can't you get credit without a SS number.
Maybe you didn't show a card but you've given your number out countless
times.
What medicare card? I have an advantage plan and my "card" is from
United Health Care. My SS# does not appear on that card anywhere. In
fact there is nothing in my wallet with my SS# on it.
How would you propose potential voters properly identify themselves?
Certified birth certificate and a record of your marriages/divorces if
you changed your name, just like you need for a driver's license since
they came out with "real ID" (post 9-11)
