Default Won't someone take just a little nibble?

My lazy gun - author unknown

Today I Placed my .357 revolver on the table right next
to my front door. I left 6 cartridges beside it, then left it alone and
went about my business.
While I was gone, the mailman delivered my mail, the
neighbor's son across the street mowed the yard, a girl walked her dog
down the street, and quite a few cars stopped at the "stop" sign near
the front of my house.

After about an hour, I checked on the gun. It was
quietly sitting there, right where I had left it. It had not moved
itself outside. It had not killed anyone. Certainly, even with the
numerous opportunities it had presented to do that. In fact, it had not
even loaded itself.

Well you can imagine my surprise, with all the hype by
the left and the media about how dangerous guns are and how they kill
people. Either the media is wrong or I'm in possession of the laziest
gun in the world.

The United States is 3rd in Murders Throughout The
World. But if you take out just 5 'left-wing' cities: Chicago, Detroit,
Washington DC, St Louis and New Orleans -- the United States is 4th from
the bottom, in the ENTIRE World, for Murders.

These 5 Cities are controlled by Democrats. They also
have The Toughest Gun Control Laws in the USA.

It would be absurd to draw any conclusions from this
data, right?

Well, I'm off to check on my spoons. I hear they're
making people fat.

OK, I'll try...

Maybe the guns in those big, Democrat-controlled cities aren't as lazy as that POS
..357 revolver of yours?

For gun deaths, the "Red" states are the deadliest.

Gun Deaths per 100,000 Population

Alaska 20.4
Louisiana 19.2
Alabama 16.2
Mississippi 16.1
Wyoming 15.6
Montana 15.4
New Mexico* 14.9
Arizona 14.6
Nevada* 14.5
Arkansas 14.4

The leading states, in terms of gun deaths per 100,000 residents,
except for New Mexico and Nevada, were carried by the Republicans in the
2012 presidential race. All the rest of the states in the top 20 were
carried by the Republican candidate.

So what? The discussion was about the five left-wing cities that bring this country
from almost the bottom to almost the top of world-wide murder list.

Pay attention.

No, that was *your* discussion, and I don't give a flying foch about
your attempts to issue orders or control discussions...

I don't have the time right now but it might be interesting to drill
down on what those deaths were and where they occurred.
My first question is how many were suicides. 6 months of winter will
do that to you ;-)
The next question in the southern states is how many were in the big
cities.

Are those who die by the gun any deader no matter the cause?

Are you suggesting that the gun death rates in places like Detroit and
Chicago would be even higher if the local governments were predominately
Republican?
