Today while walking the dogs across the end of a school yard, I spot a large dog
apparently loose in the playground on the other side of the soccer fields - about 100
yards away. The dog spots me with my two dogs and starts out across the fields at us.
The owner, a guy with the loose leash in his hand, comes out from behind the
playground equipment and begins yelling at and chasing the dog. The dog, a pit bull I
can see as it got closer, continued towards us.

I was standing at the corner of a fence and stair rails, so I put the dogs behind the
fence and waited. A couple seconds later, the pit bull is a few yards away and I
crouch down and yell, "NO!" jumping at the dog as I did so. This stopped the pit
bull, momentarily. It turned towards its owner, now about 50 yards away, and then
turned back towards us. Again I yelled. It stopped, but as the owner got close, the
dog took off coming around the fence. Again, yelling and jumping caused it to shy
away, and finally the owner got between my dogs and his dog, getting his dog to stop.
I'm sure I was very lucky the f'ing dog wasn't a bit more aggressive and come after
me. Maybe it was the bulk of a red winter coat and hood.

The owner, although stupid as ****, was apologetic, and I walked off. I should have
called Animal Control, but forgot I had my cell phone.

Coming home I seriously considered carrying when I walked the dogs. This is the third
time a large dog has either attacked or threatened my dogs while I was walking them.
Two times were German Shepherds, this time a Pit Bull.

I think from now on I'll have a P938 in my pocket. This is getting ridiculous.
