NDP dropped to 44...big loss of a lovely lady representing Halifax in the Liberal tide. A Quebec party managed 10 seats while the Green Party got one for their leader.

Oh yeah...our new Prime Minister is Justin Trudeau.......son of former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.

The Queen, of course. :-)

The liberal party will, since they have won a majority of seats.
Trudeau said he will roll the income tax reduction back that was given to the wealthiest Canadians by the Conservatives in favour of a reduction to the middle class.
Lots of other promises but the usual excuse for either ditching them or moving implementation to just before the next election is the excuse that the finances are tighter than known. We'll see.

government does in a number of hot button areas, such as, for example,
the Keystone Pipeline.

government does in a number of hot button areas, such as, for example,
the Keystone Pipeline.

With the price of oil as low as it is, I wonder if that will be on the back burner. A more important issue in these parts is a national pipeline from Alberta to the big Irving refinery next door in New Brunswick. A lot of people on the route don't want it but it might give us a break on stability of supplies and price.

It sounds like Justin wants to borrow and spend your way to
prosperity. Good luck. I will be watching the loonie vs the US$ and
get an idea ... or just wait another month and hear what the Canadian
snow birds have to say.

People were finally tired of Stephen Harper's cronyism and seemingly endless horse ****. Good riddance!

Now, something about Justin's dad.

Even though he was a pompous asshole, Pierre was extremely popular and I'd say he did a pretty fair job as far as PM goes. I feel that christening him as "père du Canada moderne" is a bit extreme, however he made some very good reforms, but wasn't fiscally responsible- especially when it came to fleecing the Canadian cheque payers pockets. But people loved him.

I wish Justin well. Canada has a new future. With prayerful consideration, I wish him well and hope he can accomplish some great things.
