Just below freezing here this morning. Kinda a shock because it
happened so suddenly.

Pool system went into "Freeze Protection Mode". Turns the
pump on
and opens all valving connected to the controller. Fortunately,
it is scheduled for closing on Tuesday, although the forecast is
for warmer weather next week.

It is 35f here at the moment but the forecast is for 60s and
maybe 70f
later this week.

70f here in the southern sunshine state but the pool heater has
been
running a little longer in the morning. The river is still at
about
82f.

That is at 0400 in the morning. It is mid 80s in the afternoon.

My kids are in Northern Michigan and it is snowing.

Upper Peninsula?

Traverse City. Ski country.

That's pretty north for the lower peninsula. We drove up to Sault
Sainte
Marie once, but that was in the summer. Pretty drive, pretty desolate
much of the way.

These are people who grew up in Florida so they are freezing already
and it isn't even cold yet.
They haven't sold their house in WPB and I think that might be a sign.
I doubt they will take to 20 below.
They may end up being "half backs tho" living in Tennessee or
something.
Ranger Dave is a lawyer who wants to work in the land management
business. He is running a 5 county land trust in Michigan right now.

The second coldest day of my life occurred while attending a political
convention in January in Grand Rapids.

North Atlantic in the middle of the winter had to be coldest I've ever
experienced. After a week underway, the ship returned to Newport, RI
because the ice was 3 inches thick, covering the entire superstructure.
Deck apes couldn't keep up with the chipping.
Gets dangerous due to becoming top heavy, reducing roll limit.

My coldest day was in Thunder Bay, Ontario. I was told it was 20 degrees
below zero, Fahrenheit, the day we landed there, and that if you peed,
it would freeze before it hit the ground.
