Find out what the Hospice guidelines are for your brothers prognosis. They can help make his last days and weeks more comfortable for him and his family. Their services are available to the family for up to a year after. Does a Can Am Spyder count? He's not at the hospice stage yet. He has a VA nurse that visits him once a week, takes all his vitals, etc. He has been able to reduce his oxygen intake by a third over the past couple weeks, so that's a good sign. He's back down to 4L/min. Believe it or not, while taking some curves today I actually thought about you and your Spyder. And I thought it couldn't possibly be as much fun as leaning into a curve and hitting the throttle to straighten up for the exit. But, I could be wrong. I hit rain showers three time on the way back, and I was thinking a couple more tires would make maneuvering a bit less hairy! -- Ban idiots, not guns! My days of thrill riding are over. Have been for decades. A couple of weeks ago we hit a monsoon rain just 10 minutes from the end of the ride. Couldn't feel any hydroplaning. Ride felt solid. They did a good job on the 14 model year suspension. Prior years, not so much. Without four wheels and steel all around, slick roads can get pretty scary. -- Ban idiots, not guns! My scariest ride was from Manassas VA back to MA on a Harley Ultra Classic. It poured rain the whole way. Cured any future desire to ride in the rain. I don't 'like' riding in the rain, but it's no longer that much of a bother. However, I will *not* ride at night in the rain. Approaching headlights make every drop of water on face shield look like a baby LED. -- Ban idiots, not guns! |

After the motor broke on my last bike, which wife was very happy about, I have not owned a motorcycle. Love speed to much, so would be in deep ****, as the reflexes are not what they were in the 20-40's. |

I don't think the pegs are high, but I've never measured the ground clearance and compared it to a Harley. On a Harley, the first things that hit are the floorboards. I like my bike because it's much more comfortable for a tall person than a Harley, IMHO. I just got on and measured. From the center of my pegs to the ground is about 11". That's higher than I'd have guessed. Here is the Guzzi site. Compare the Grizzo (which is a sportbike) to the California (a cruiser) to the Stelvio (an 'adventure' bike for on and off road). My bike would be most comparable to the Norge, what I would call a 'sport tourer'. Oh, and the pegs are hinged so they come up when being dragged! -- Ban idiots, not guns! |
