If you went to Florida there would be no income tax at all and I am not sure how property taxes compare. On a $200k (appraised value) home, the tax is $1687 with the homestead adjustment.. These appraisals are intentionally low so they do not have to adjust therm when we have a housing slump like they did a few years ago. Here, on a $615K (appraised value) home, the taxes are $7285. Ouch. ~500K, $2200 here. Is that appraised tax value of just the house or house and property? For me, it's total. (I'm not very wealthy!) -- Guns don't cause problems.
