Bragging rights. About what, I don't know. === They are actually a decent hunting rifle for anything up to the size of a wild boar or so. With the right bullet it would certainly take down wood chucks and you could take the head off a turkey. I am sure a deer would bleed out without too much of a chase but I think I would want something a tad heavier if I was shooting at a ****ed off 400 pound tusker coming at me.. I wouldn't want to try to tap one charging at me either. A 12g. slug would be more suitable for that task. but It would easily take a wild boar down if you casually whacked it. Especially if you could get the pig behind the ear. That is what the rangers carry. Pump guns with 7 shot tubes and slugs. Guys also use 308/30-06 class rifles. no disagreement from me. But if a person was confronted with a head on charger, then 12g. with steel buckshot might be the wisest choice. What do I know though. I've never huntd hog. |
