Unless you find one at an in-state dealer's for $529, you are typically
looking at an additional $75 to $100 for FFL services
Wow. That's gone up a lot since last time, no?
It's been a while since I bought a "Maryland regulated" firearm from an
out of state vendor and had it processed through an FFL in Maryland.
Most of the real gun dealers with stores charge from $75 to $100 these
days to do a "regulated" process on a firearm bought out of state.
The last "regulated" firearm I bought was from an in-state dealer and
the only processing fee was the state fee, which was $10, if memory serves.
The problem arises if you want a particular handgun and you can't find
an in-state dealer within a reasonable distance who has one or who can
get one from his distributor. In that case, you have to shop on-line.
The Smith I just bought was from an in-state dealer, so there will just
be the nominal state processing fee.
