One thing is for sure... an unintentional result is the proof that you are one of the greatest drivers of the animosity that exists in this NG. During your "experiment", the overall tone of the posts greatly improved. And you proved that you can't wipe out 10 years of bad behavior with one week of relatively good behavior.

My experiment showed that for the last three weeks or so, without my
making a single derogatory post about other posters here, there were and
are at least a half dozen posters whose snarly behavior continued.

It was a limited experiment, and it proved what I suspected.

Harry has definitely been horribly mistreated. His 'nasty 8' must have
some real ingrained prejudices against the poor guy. But, as you've
suggested in the past, there is no reason for such.
