Yep. Tom had his at the same marina where we keep our boat. I kept an eye on it for him.

A friend just bought a new Scout 225 XSF. As you said, very nice boats. He sent me the link because we were talking the other day about how these large center consoles are really getting popular. They are beginning to take the place of the big twin diesel Sport-Fisher. A run out to the gulf stream can be 30-50 miles here in SC, so folks want something that will get them there and back in a hurry.

Just realized that right now I am about 30 or 40 minutes away from the
Scout factory. I should take a ride over and see if they have a
factory tour.

Go for it. Maybe they give out free samples. :-)

I went through the Judge Yachts factory when a friend was having his
boat built there. Wasn't much of a 'factory', one big building, but
they had two or three boats going at one time. Very interesting to
watch the process.

Scout expanded their manufacturing facility in Summerville, SC to start building this boat and a couple of 30 something footers as well. Wow, what a boat!

I like this "Weight w/quad 300's/fully loaded!"

I like this too "Max Horsepower (4x350)!"

The questions is with the quad motors how many minutes does the 500
gallon fuel tank last?

Twelve minutes?

The quads will burn about 140 gals/hr at full throttle, 70 at 1/2
power cruising speed. Personally I'd want diesels in a boat that size
but the outboards do have some utility other that the "wow" factor.

I was talking to someone recently who is in the marine insurance
business. He said that it is becoming increasingly more difficult and
expensive to insure triple and quad outboard boats because they are
stolen so often.

Scout has always made some interesting fishing boats, but the idea of a
boat that size and weight with four 300+ gasoline outboards on it can
only make the oil companies smile. :)

That is why they make the 7 Marine ;-)
Two of them would make this a pretty fast boat.
Three would make it really fast.

Like Tim says, if money is an issue, you would not be buying this.

If I didn't pay my income taxes I could afford one.
