I am 11 months into this affliction and with any luck will be free of it by July. So, we're looking for an active boating season next year. Believe I mentioned that I picked up my boat a few weeks ago and the warranty paint blister repair looks great. Damn, Don - when you say 'PMR' are you meaning this: http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-c...n/con-20023162 If so, that sucks. I'm sorry to hear about that. Let's hope it doesn't turn into giant cell arteritis. That's some even worse ****. I'll say a prayer for you. (Honestly.) Glad the blister repair looks good. I guess a year of use will show how well it lasts. -- "The modern definition of 'ingrained racist' is someone who's winning an argument with a couple liberals." (Thanks, Luddite!) That's it..specialist said I had the classic symptoms.....and in spades. End of last April I couldn't dress myself. drive or even get up out of a chair ...especially the week or two before I started the steroid treatment. D'oh..I spent around 2 grand on a lift chair, and various aids to get me through the day...such as a commode chair, extender for picking objects up from floor, device to help putting on socks...etc etc. Wish I had started on the steroids a week or two earlier. Anyway, I feel great today...a bit wishy washy in the knees and can't make a tight fist.. but overall pretty minor now. I may take an Aleve pill on a rainy morning if I plan to exercise. Well, let's hope it goes away and stays away. My experiences with steroid injections isn't all that great. They worked in the elbow, but not in the neck. -- "The modern definition of 'ingrained racist' is someone who's winning an argument with a couple liberals." (Thanks, Luddite!) |

Ah...the Floriduh UnFunny man strikes again. PMS is reserved for y'all girliemen. I'd guess that FlaJim also suffers from dementia, but I can't recall him ever being anything more than intellectually slow. I'm finally out of casts on my wrist and in a light brace. I see an occupational/physical therapist twice a week to work my way back up to snuff. But still, it's a minor inconvenience compared to what you're going through. You know, with those steroids in your blood, you'll not pass the drug test for major league baseball...your hope of a career in "the bigs" is over. You seem to be the one with recall problems. |

This is a good time of year for planning and preparing for next season's boating adventures. Hopefully some of you pull away from your keyboards long enough to do a little of that. Carry on. My boating adventures don't take that much planning Drop the lift Get on the boat Poke around the bay for a while Pick the boat up Go back up to the house and jump in the pool. This time of year I skip the "pool" part. I do not have it that easy. But not far to SF Bay and the Sacramento Delta for boating. But like to look at some other areas, and Vancouver Island and vicinity is a gorgeous boating area. Especially the East side of the island as it is most protected waters. Some places like Bute and Knight Inlets can get rough as the winds can come down the inlet. |
