Left to right...

Winchester 1892 Carbine in .357 Magnum. A really sweet shooter.

Colt AR-15 in 5.56/.223, with some modifications, and more to come.

S&W AR-15/22, with a scope. .22LR, and great fun to shoot.

Hey, if you going to fight off the zombies...

Where'd you steal that picture, you lying asshole?

Harry you have some nice guns. But a question- I could understand at maybe 300 yards, but do you need scopes to hit at up to 300 ft. ?

It depends on what I am trying to hit, eh? I can easily and consistently
hit a 6" in diameter metal "gong" plate at 100 yards with any of the
rifles, unassisted by a visual "aid" beyond standard iron sights.

Surrrrrrrrrrrre you can. Another krause lie.

Ok 'red dot'. I have a couple old ones that are 'green dot". Same thing only different color. Ymmv but I never cared for them. They're great if you like em though..

I have one of these that offers the best of both worlds. It's on my
"shooting" AR15 at the moment.

I have an Aimpoint Mark 3 from the late 80's. Most were 'red' but this one is 'green.' I bought it used and reasonable. they guy I got it from didn't like it either.. LOL!

Red dot sights have improved considerably in the last three decades,

Harry I know the technology and optics are greatly improved over the last 30 years. I've shot rifles with some really nice modern dot sights.

I still don't like em. I guess I'm too old school.

I've never had a scope on a rifle. I suppose I'd have had a lot more
head-shot rabbits and squirrels if I had, but the body-shot ones
tasted pretty good.

“Squirrel is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil

squirrel gumbo, pan fried, deep fried, stir fried. There's pineapple
squirrel and lemon squirrel, coconut squirrel, pepper squirrel, squirrel
soup, squirrel stew, squirrel salad, squirrel in potatoes, squirrel
burger, squirrel sandwich. That's, that's about it.” Apologies to Bubba
