Default Yet Another Nor'easter for the North East

This one looks just about as tightly wound as the last one depending
on where you are. Should start heating up on Sunday and Monday.

Batten down the hatches.

It's called "Viewfax". It gives you a variety of options for
downloading and displaying the GFS weather model. You can get it
he

It's an easy install but usage and interpretation involve a bit of a
learning curve. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll try to
help.

Two years ago I was able to identify the weather system that
eventually became Hurricane Sandy before anyone else was talking about
it.

Heh. You are talking about a nor'easter that nobody around here have
mentioned yet. I mentioned it to my wife and she looked at me like I
had two heads.

Be interesting to see what develops.

Is this a projection of what the low pressure area around the Virgin
Islands is going to do?

I took a look at Wayne's link for the software. I think I am going to
download it and give it a whirl. Looks interesting.

After you configure the options, the program will download the GFS
model data going out as far as 8 days. You can then roll it forwards
and backwards on your screen. It is very useful for spotting weather
systems as they are first developing. The professional
meteorologists use the same data but they have accesss to many
different models. The GFS is one of the better ones however.

For my purposes the NOAA hurricane center and the local RADAR is all I
need.

RADAR is very good for the near future. Beyond that you need a
weather model. That's what the NHC does and all of the popular
weather sites.

No, the low pressure area near the VI moves off to mid-ocean and kind
of fizzles. The one neaded for New England looks like it will form
off Cape Hatteras on Saturday afternoon and then go up the coast.
