What sort of firearms do you carry on board to ward off the even badder bad guys? === The dual 50 cals on the foredeck of the big USCG boats seem to do a good job of warding off evil spirits. The waters off the DR and Puerto Rico are being constantly patroled by US helos and cutters. They sometimes hail you on the VHF radio. We were boarded by USCG at 0630 one morning in Boqueron, PR. They gave us a cursory once over and said good bye. The next boat they boarded was a big sportfish and the coasties ended up calling in the DEA and their drug sniffing dogs. Don't know what set them off or how it turned out. In the DR every port captain is paired with a drug enforcement guy. |

The U.S. Secret Service detained the man, who has not been identified, after he was alleged to have made threatening statements at a federal building in Oklahoma City. The man told agents he urinated on the monument and ran it over with a car, said David Allison, the assistant special agent in charge. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said they believe a single person was responsible for the act on Thursday night that left the 6-foot (1.8-meter) monument broken in several large pieces not far from where it was mounted. The man will be turned over to Oklahoma police. **The man said the devil told him to knock down the monument**, local broadcaster KOCO quoted law enforcement officials as saying. "He made those kind of statements," Allison said, without adding further details. Conservative Christian groups fought for years to have the Ten Commandments displayed at the statehouse. Legislative approval was eventually granted to the groups, who said they were using private funds to commemorate a historical event and were not in violation of constitutional restrictions on the state sponsoring religion. - - - Of course...the devil made him do it! ![]() Of life’s simple pleasures, few are more satisfying than being attacked by the right-wing trash in rec.boats. ![]() Maybe the Almighty told him to do it because Harry Krause needs something to complain about in rec.boats. I just can't wrap my head around a guy like krause who finds the most satisfaction in his live being attacked... Something sick about that. |

Oh, are you still "muleing" guns and drugs in that boat of yours? Where does it state it was erected illegally? It's a religious statue on public property. D'uh. Is not a state sponsored religion. Was paid for privately. And put on public property. Who owns public property? |

There are religious symbols and bible verses all over the federal buildings in DC. You better load up the old Yugo and get to work. I wonder how long it would take until the cops arrested you? I guess I should just grimace and giggle at religious expressionism on public buildings and on public property and suchlike. "In god we trust..." Right, because we can trust god to prevent WWII, 9-11, Ebola, polio, and hatemongers like Pat Robertson and Rush Limbaugh. Talk to your priest buddy. He'll splain it all to you. |
