Resident fights off three home invaders, KRQE, Albuquerque, N.M. 08/20/14

A man was asleep at home in Albuquerque, N.M. when a trio of armed robbers attempted to gain entry
to the residence by claiming that they were police. The criminals ultimately broke down the door and
got inside the home. The resident responded by retrieving a gun and firing at the home invaders,
striking and killing one, and wounding another. The surviving intruders fled the home, but were
later captured by police. The surviving home invaders have been charged with the murder of their
accomplice. Albequerque Police Department Public Information Officer Tanner Tixier shared some
advice for would be intruders with local media outlet KRQE, stating, "“What people need to
understand is if you join your buddy to go commit a felony and your buddy dies you can be the one
who gets charged with murder."

Sounds like they got what they deserved, administered by someone who
was sufficiently trained to undertake his own defense.

Problem is, a large percentage of guns are in the hands of people who
aren't well trained, don't store or handle weapons properly and end up
creating more danger than they're capable of solving.

I want guns in the hands of people who can handle them properly. The
gun industry and the NRA don't give a **** who has 'em. In fact,
their business case is built on the fear that the "wrong people"
(young, colored folk) have 'em. Turns out the "wrong people" are the
idiots who never take responsibility for the deadly force they own.

Your arguments are understandable and reasonable but unfortunately are
not supported by statistics. The vast majority of gun owners know how
to handle, use and store firearms safely. The accidents are by a very,
very small percentage of owners, not a "large percentage" as you state.

The accidents are in the news every single day. Toddlers to the aged.

Happened again today in a suburb of Seattle. Dead. Every single day.

We're just talking accidents. No mention of legal gun owners going
sideways or berzerk for a hundred different reasons.

Washington will pass stricter gun control laws in November when it's
put up for a vote. One nice thing about having billionaires in the
area who support common sense causes. Love watching the gun fondlers
in the area go apoplectic when Gates drops another $1M in the kitty.

So what? People (and toddlers) have fatal accidents all the time,
and the vast majority of such incidents do not involve guns. Go
peddle your bull**** somewhere else. And just for the record, I do
think it is stupid to let a 9 year old fire an automatic weapon. Why
not blame the stupid parents and stupid instructor instead of the gun?
The instructor by the way is elligible for a Darwin award since there
will be no repeat mistake.
