It is still over 2 feet long and not particularly easy to aim.
At typical "inside the home" ranges. don't count on a pattern more
than a couple inches wide either so you need to aim.
If you are holed up in your safe room, a shotgun may make some sense
but if you actually are thinking about walking around, a shotgun is
not all that handy, If you don't have training and understand
"retention positions" the bad guy might just take it away from you.
The same is also true of a pistol tho.
My instructor used to say, "never let a man know you have a knife until
you are pulling it out of his gut"...
