Excerpts:

"But while half of the shootings I featured were the result of a
crime, the other half, I was most surprised to learn, resulted from
arguments — often fueled by alcohol — among friends, neighbors, family
members and romantic partners. More and more, people are solving their
differences not with their fists but with guns. Husbands and wives are
shooting each other, as are sisters and brothers. In many homes across
America, loaded guns are easily accessible, and children find them,
accidentally shooting themselves or each other. One hundred children
died in unintentional shootings in the year after Newtown, which
breaks down to two every week."

"A favorite argument of the gun-rights crowd is that nothing stops a
bad guy with a gun more effectively than a good guy with a gun. I have
come to believe that people who think they are going to shoot the bad
guys — which sometimes does happen — are influenced by movies. Often
their own guns are grabbed by the bad guys and used against them,
especially during home invasions. In my daily reports, I made sure to
include police officers accidentally shooting themselves and each
other. If highly trained people have accidents, how can civilians be
expected to be perfect marksmen during a high-stress robbery?"

I'm waiting to read about Herring, aka self-described good guy, getting
into a gunfight with some bad guy who has a bit more experience with
sidearms.

Our famous pistolero weighs in.

Kinda' like the Easter on Christmas theory harry came up with a while
back... I would imagine most folks who have a "bit more experience" with
sidearms, wouldn't get into a "gunfight". Seems to me harry's gun
experience might be googled like most of his other harrytales...

It can be googled. Search on Harry Krause Maryland shooters.

I don't expect to get into a gunfight, either, but...when *you* decide
to perpetrate an illegal home invasion down here in semi-rural
Huntingtown, you can be sure you will be met with a 12 gauge shotgun or
a .357 MAG revolver as soon as you bust through the door or window, and
I'll bill your survivors for the cost of cleaning up the blood/grease
stains you leave behind after you are carried out in a body bag.

Let me know when you raise the gas money.

You've been involved in 3 shootings, some deadly. You'll be in a gun
fight sooner or later.

Another "Zimmerman like" Harry story?

How is that? Little **** Ingerfool can walk up and down our streets all
day long carrying a bag of candy and a cold drink.

You just seem too giddy with the idea that you get to shoot someone.

If he was walking around on your property after dark and punched you
in the nose when you asked him what he was doing there, would that
qualify (candy or not)?

Wouldn't have to...the lights would pick him up and if I thought there
was a threat, I'd simply call the sheriff and a deputy would be here in
less than five minutes.

I wouldn't shoot a perp here unless he broke down a door or smashed a
window on his way in. The reality is, despite his years of making
threats here, he's just a little turd hiding under his desk or behind
the skirts in his family.

5 minutes is a long time for you to wait for justice. Can you hide under
your desk that long?

One hundred sounds like a large number until you look at all the other
things that cause accidental death with children. This is yet another
case of raising the emotional cry of "what about the children?" when
the real purpose is to advance a personal anti gun agenda.

I wonder if that includes all the under 18 year-olds in Chicago and
elsewhere. Oh, wait, they don't
count, and it's 'racist' to mention them.

It's quite telling that right-wing assholes like Herring and W'hine so
easily dismiss the death of children killed by firearms.

I do not think they dismiss the killings. I think we, as a society, have
become inured to drug dealers, killing other drug dealers. We do cry about
the innocents killed, but overall why really care? The local neighborhood
will not testify, or even get up a vigilante committee. As long as they
keep it local to their neighborhood, we will ignore it for the most part.
Until we change the War on Drugs, there will be no stopping the killings.
If it turned in to a Mexico type drug war, then all those people with legal
guns will get riled up.

Herring and the other right-wing assholes don't give a damn about the
mass murders of kids in schools.

Mass murders in school are less than years past, and are a minor notation
on death by shooting.

Oh. How nice.

You insinuate that they are a major part of gun deaths. Lies, damn lies,
and Harry.

So, the logic is: Kids die, why be concerned with how.

Despite all the noise "Repubnants" make about "right-to-life," once the
fetus pops out, they really don't give a **** about the kids that are in
the "here and now."

Because there's no traction in that political issue for the R's.
Caring for people post birth is an issue that belongs to the Dems.

What a dumbass..... you being from the party that only cares once you
get to voting age...
