Default Hey, nothing wrong here

If the woman was going to arm her 5 year old, why in the hell didn't
she arm the 2 year old too?

"A Kentucky woman gave her 5-year-old son a .22 caliber Crickett brand
rifle for his birthday. This resulted in the 5-year-old killing his
2-year-old sister, Caroline Sparks.

Sparks left her son unattended with the rifle when he fatally shot his
baby sister. Believing that a “child safety” was all that was
necessary to keep the child safe from accidentally firing the weapon,
the rifle was kept unlocked in a “safe place.”

The uncle of the victim said, “It’s just tragic. It’s something that
you can’t prepare for.”

****The grandmother of the children, Linda Riddle, told WLEX, “It was
God’s will. It was her time to go, I guess. I just know she’s in
heaven right now and I know she’s in good hands with the Lord.”****

Kentucky police trooper said that, “It’s just one of those
nightmares,” he said, “a quick thing that happens when you turn your
back. In this part of the country, it’s not uncommon for a 5-year-old
to have a gun or for a parent to pass one down to their kid.”

The rifle that was used was a “My First Rifle” Cricket rifle, designed
and marketed as a toy for children. Their website says on the home
page, “Quality Firearms For America’s Youth.”

They feature testimonials from people who have bought their firearms,
one says,

“Thank you for supporting the next generation of recreational
shooters. My 4 1/2 year old daughter thought the “pink one” was far
superior to a black synthetic stock, who am i to argue? I never would
have thought that a pink rifle would be sitting in the rack in the gun
room. I look forward to when my daughter is a bit older and ready to
begin her journey in the great sport of shooting.”

The tragedy has been ruled an accident and no one involved will face
charges.

So how was the LGBTQ parade this year? Did you make sure your children had a good seat and enjoy festivities as well as watching the colourful people?

Well, hell, Snotty, you post kiddie motorbike racing stuff, model
airplane stuff, household rewiring stuff, medical stuff, all to a
boating group. So, what are you bitching about?

I don't usually read or comment on jps's stuff, but I did this one, and two things struck me:

"The rifle that was used was a My First Rifle Cricket rifle, designed
and marketed as a toy for children. Their website says on the home
page, Quality Firearms For America's Youth" At first I though this
was just clumsy writing, but if you parse it carefully it's actually
an attempt on the writer's part to mislead the reader. He's not saying
that the website states that they market the guns as toys, he's just
trying to trick the reader into thinking that. The "toy" statement
is made up commentary by the writer. In other words, a lie in a non-factual article.

Secondly, the commentary by jps on the grandmother's statement is complete hysterical BS. For one thing the grandmother had nothing to do with the accident. The *mother* purchased the gun for the child and failed to lock it up safely. But of course, his comment was really aimed at the religious aspect of her statement, if we can beleive it's a real quote after the toy lie.
What he doesn't understand is that's a coping mechanism, just like if something bad happened to someone in his family, and he drank a half-gallon of whiskey every night and cried himself to sleep. Her way is far healthier for mind and body.

I didn't really expect better.

jps and veracity do not go hand-in-hand.

He and Harry share that facet of their personalities.

Quick Acting Female Store Clerk Shoots And Kills Armed Robber With One Shot

Clerk Shooting

Nothing better than the perp being dispatched with the tax payer relief shot.

Via Guns Save Lives

The clerk behind the counter at Stan’s Health Foods has not been formally identified, but it is
believed the clerk was a 46 year old woman who had previously worked in law enforcement, including a
stint with the Secret Service.

When a man entered the store wielding a 6 inch hunting knife, the clerk kept her composure the
entire time. It seems she was willing to let the suspect get away with some cash, but when he put
the hunting knife to her chest, she wasn’t having any of it.

She immediately drew her firearm and fired a single shot, striking the suspect in the chest.
According to Philly.com,

The man went behind the counter and threw the cash register on the floor to break it, Small said,
then began collecting the money scattered on the floor. He then put the knife to the woman’s chest,
Small said, and she sprang into action.

She drew a gun and fired a single shot into the man’s chest, Small said. The man collapsed on the
floor.

When police arrived moments later, the suspect was still clutching some cash in his left hand, Small
said. A knife was found nearby.

The man was pronounced dead shortly afterward at Aria Health-Torresdale Campus. His name has not
been released.

The clerk was not injured during the incident. This is the 43rd defensive gun use we’ve documented
in the state of Pennsylvania and the 1,183rd defensive gun use we’ve documented overall.

I suppose you would find that cause for celebration. Have you had your
