That will ease up also after everyone has stocked up with the
obligatory lifetime supply. At that point the hoarders and
speculators will be out of the market and things will return to
normal.

I have two .22 cal guns .. a Ruger SR22 pistol and a Ruger 10/22 rifle.
When I purchased them the dealer threw in a box of 500 rounds for each
gun.

I also have a couple of boxes that I had purchased previously for
another .22 cal revolver I had. I don't shoot the .22's very often so
I suspect my stash will last a while.

What I need is .380 ammo. I just bought another handgun earlier this
week for the first time in a long time. I've been thinking about a
compact pocket pistol to replace the S&W Bodyguard 380 that I had but
didn't like. Choices are limited here in MA because of the famous
"banned" list by the Attorney General's office.

I happened to visit the local gun shop I go to this past Monday. He
had two Sig Sauer P228s in the case. One had fancy engraving and pearl
grips. Too over the top for me. The other was more plain but had nice
looking rosewood grips instead of the baseline black. I liked that one
and temptation overcame logic and it went home with me. Looks identical
to this:

Quite like my P938, which is the 9mm counterpart.

https://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProd...8-equinox.aspx

"With the introduction of the P938, SIG SAUER now offers the ballistic advantage of the 9mm
cartridge in a platform similar in size to the best-selling P238 pistol."

I like the way it shoots, and my wife loves the damn thing!

The dealer had a P938 also that I looked at. Nice gun. A little bigger
than the P228 but not by much. I went for the P228 due to it's size (I
wanted a pocket pistol) and since I also use .380 ammo for the Walther.
I didn't feel like having to stock up on 9mm as well.

I am not really interested in "stopping power" specs and discussions.
I figure that in an emergency anything is better than nothing. It's
more important to be able to shoot accurately.

I thought the Walther was your "carry" pistol.

The Walther is really too big and heavy to be a comfortable carry pistol
although some people do. I like it a lot ... it's my favorite gun to
shoot at the range. Accurate and just "feels" right.

I don't "carry" much anymore anyway. Really no reason to. I still
wanted a small, pocket sized pistol to replace the S&W Bodyguard that I
had and didn't like at all. The Sigs have a very good reputation, the
P228 is tried and true and is the size I was looking for.

I was just at our WalMart. There's about 80 boxes of .380 FMJ on the shelf. Keep checking your local
WalMart.

BTW, here's a great instructional video on shooting the P228.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFN-CqLOkZs

Well, the P938 is .4" longer, mostly in barrel length, but other than that the dimensions are about
the same. But I do understand the desire to stick with only a few ammo calibers.

SIG makes first-class weapons. I liked the X-5 I had. It was a work of
art and it worked smoothly and reliably. It just wasn't as accurate as
the CZ I got to replace it, and it didn't cycle as quickly, either.

I would rather have the Colt Mustang .380.

380 ammo prices are coming down, just not as fast as the other types of
ammo.

I'd like one also but, like the Ruger LCP, the Colt Mustang is not MA
compliant.

I think the list of non-compliant handguns in MA is longer than the
list of compliant models.

I thought MA was a pro choice state?

Oh, you thought that meant *you* had choice there? LOL...

Was in the gun store Friday looking at a new AR. $699 for M&P Sport. $399

for a 1000 rd case of ammo for it. Maybe should wait on the AR?
I'd say that the M&P is just as good as an AR, And I doubt you'll
find the AR's dropping in price that much. Might be wrong though...

i read where there is starting to be an oversupply of AR type weapons.
Most have filled their fears in buying and the supply line is still cranked up.

That's very true. Look at the price of the Windham's now.

I was looking at the Wymdhams and the store in Livermore saint $950 plus
tax. 250 les for the S&W.

$750 here.

No. However, there is a MA compliant version of the PM9. Don't know
what the difference is from those sold elsewhere.
