I was thinking earlier today that it's interesting that little new info
or news is being released. Even the media seems to have lost interest
or have limited their coverage of events.

The Malaysian flight's getting the headlines, but there's a lot making the news also.

The Soviet states had no notion of democracy while under the thumb of
Russia, and with a couple of exceptions, most of them still don't. The
East Germans were saved by reunification with West Germany. The Poles
and the Czechs seem to be doing better than most of the rest.

Wow. I don't agree with Palin about much, but she definitely nailed that.

I've not been to Poland. But if one were to ask me what city to visit in Europe, I'd say Prague
(Praha), Czechoslovakia. The city is beautiful and the people love Americans (or did when I was
there in '89-'90. On the town square was the 'America House', a place where Americans could drop in,
be greeted by Czech college kids wanting to practice their English, and be given as much hot popcorn
as they could eat. It became a popular attraction for all, including Germans. But, at the border
crossing, the Czech guards would spot the American tags and wave them to the front of the line. Of
course, being on a motorcycle meant one could 'white line' to the front. From Stuttgart the trip
took about seven hours by car, and about three and a half hours by motorcycle.

I hope the Russian taking of Crimea doesn't lead to taking Ukraine and then heading west. I don't
think there's much anyone could/would do about it - and I think Putin knows that.

Diablo Supercorsas, by Pirelli. Wore out one rear tire, replacement cost
about $250. Front tire still good, replacement about $115 less.

Wow. Racing tires. You must do some heavy duty riding on that thing. What model is it?
