Hmmm. You are using the same version of Thunderbird (24.3.0) that I am
using. I don't get a prompt to confirm a delete or warning of no trash
folder.

Someone else mentioned the prompt to confirm delete as well. I must
have missed it somewhere in the setup. I'll go look some more.


Yep, 24.3.0.

I couldn't find a setting to restore the delete prompt either, just the
"don't ask again" check box in the prompt itself.

I set auto mark read at 1 second and view threads with unread and never
have to delete newsgroup stuff.
